Hi, I am Emily Rose.
I grew up in a big family on a cattle farm in a small town in Kentucky. Nostalgic from an early age, I latched on to the quiet moments that gently held space for a feeling that surpassed all language. I take that same sentiment into photographing my clients, from a broad range of family all the way to commercial and interiors. My favorite thing to capture are little glimmers of God's wonderment in everyday life.
I started my photo career at WKU Photojournalism School in 2006. An award wining PJ school, that required learning to shoot only on film while also learning to develop the film a Darkroom. I spent hours in the darkroom falling in love with the art. My first photo mentor and teacher was Francis Gardler, an amazing photographer himself. I appreciate all the hours spent critiquing among my teachers and peers.
When I'm not a photographer, you can find me with my family, at church, teaching/taking Hot Yoga, cooking/baking, on the farm, playing with my dog Tucker, on the lake wake surfing, drinking coffee, enjoying motherhood and wifehood.
Reach out, send me a note- I'd love to connect and hopefully photograph something for you. <3
