Eight16 House

Interiors

Interior Shoot at Eight16 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Every once in a while, when I shoot interiors, my husband is the Designer/Craftsman and it's his work that I get to shoot. I'm always so proud of his talents and hard work, so it makes the shoot even more special. That's the case with this project, Eight16 House.

When discussing the shoot of this project with the owner, the direction of the aesthetic was a little more rocknroll, less bright and white, more grit and vibe. I imagine the person who would live here (or in this case, rent this space) would roll up in a vintage bronco, with a well lived in bluejean or leather jacket, good second day hair, boots and a film camera. They would appreciate the slower, small batched and up cycled things in life and ooze a bit of 70's flair out of their aura. Creating some sort of art, while the record player crackles and getting lost in the flow. I wouldn't mind a day or two of that myself. And now that this project is completed, anyone can rent this space and do just that, or whatever else.

I shot all these images in the same day, started early and ended before dark. I walked in and checked out the light thru out the house, walking thru each room and taking note of the sun and it's track for the day. Knowing when what window will be beaming or what room would be more shadowed. I chose a room, started shooting, then just followed where my eye went. Eventually working my way throughout, and coming back thru again as the light changed the rooms vibes. I like to shoot a variation of detail, small, medium and wide (as I call them), as to have a variety to use.

I hope you like the images, the space is awesome. Highly recommend for anyone with a large group looking to stay in Bowling Green, Ky.
